TABLE MAGIC

Opening reception, February 28, 6-9 PM

You are invited to participate in a series of public drawing sessions, taking place on consecutive Saturdays at REAL TINSEL: Feb 8, Feb 15 and Feb 22 from 6pm til late. These are open to everybody who is interested in actively participating and the drawings accumulated will found an exhibition of works on paper with a public opening on February 28, from 6 - 9 PM. The set up will remain in situ as an installation open for gallery visitors to further contribute to the show.

The drawing sessions are meant to be casual, organic and omnivorous. We hope they will aspire to the vibe of a communal living room, or a banquet table. Supplies will be provided with an emphasis on basic and inexpensive drawing materials. One may choose to work alone or with others, the focus can be on process, creative commitment, and generative action rather than final results. Participants are free to take work home or install it on the walls of the gallery as they please. We hope production events like these can open channels that in the future will yield new relationships within the community and contribute to more collaborative work, solidarity, and growth for makers.
